Band camp is our first full band activity of the new school year. Band Camp is required for all students who are a part of the band program at Umatilla High School, including woodwinds and brass, percussion, and color guard.
At band camp, students will participate in morning outdoor rehearsals where they are learning marching fundamentals (and in the second week, learning our marching band show). Color guard students will participate in marching fundamentals, equipment basics and fundamentals, and dance fundamentals as well as learning the marching band show. In the afternoons, we will shift indoors for music sectionals and color guard sectionals.
Physicals/EL2 Requirement
All students are required to have a cleared EL2 Physical Form in order to participate in any sports this includes; marching band, color guard and/or winter guard. Physicals are accepted for one year from the date of the physical. All students must complete their Physical and EL2 requirement by July 1st to give us enough time to clear everyone for participation before Band Camp.
